Skunk is 11, diabetic, and pretty cool. The summer holidays have just begun and her days are full of easy hopes. Then Mr. Oswald, the ugly man who lives opposite, beats up Rick, the sweet, but unstable boy next door and Skunk's innocence begins to be drained away at a speed and in a way she cannot control. Her home, her neighborhood, her school - all become treacherous environments where the happy certainties of childhood give way to a fear-filled doubt, and a complex, broken world fills her future. Skunk seeks solace in the last remaining place where she knows she can find it - the unspoken friendship with sweet, damaged Rick - and falls into a chaos where suddenly, joyfully, she has choice thrust back into her hands. The choice to remain in this place she was never promised, or to leave it entirely - to live or to die. Starring Tim Roth and Cillian Murphy. A PLACE FOR ME is a clever and touching tale of family, love (lost and found), and how endings can make new beginnings.
Meet the Borgens. - William Borgens (Academy Award Nominee® Greg Kinnear) is an acclaimed author who hasn’t written a word since his ex-wife Erica (Academy Award Winner® Jennifer Connelly) left him 3 years ago for another man. Samantha is publishing her first novel and is determined to avoid love at all costs - after all she’s seen what it has done to her parents. In between hook ups, she meets “nice guy” Lou (Logan Lerman) who will stop at nothing to win her over. Rusty, is an aspiring fantasy writer and Stephen King aficionado, who is on a quest to gain ‘life experiences’. He falls for the beautiful, but troubled Kate (Liana Liberato) and gets his first taste of love and a broken heart. |

Still queen of the screen, Jeanne Moreau illuminates this stylish comedy drama as a haughty old dame with an acid wit. She turned 84 this year, but effortlessly steals the show in this elegant film from Estonian director Ilmar Raag (The Class). As the acerbic Frida, an elderly Estonian in Paris, Moreau has perfected the withering look, relishing each frosty one-liner she throws at Anne (Laine Magi), the middle-aged compatriot who must care for her. An intimate comedic portrait of two very different women, A Lady in Paris is an insight into the real dilemmas families face with aging, feisty matriarchs! (French - Estonian with English subtitles)
"A delightful outsiders look into Paris... The sheer star quality of Jeanne Moreau shines through." - Screen International |

From the uniquely imaginative mind of writer/producer/director Baz Luhrmann comes the new big screen adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel, The Great Gatsby. The filmmaker will create his own distinctive visual interpretation of the classic story, bringing the period to life in a way that has never been seen before, in a film starring Leonardo DiCaprio in the title role. The Great Gatsby will screen in 3D.
The Great Gatsby follows Fitzgerald-like, would-be writer Nick Carraway (Tobey Maguire) as he leaves the Midwest and comes to New York City in the spring of 1922, an era of loosening morals, glittering jazz and bootleg kings. Chasing his own American Dream, Nick lands next door to a mysterious, party-giving millionaire, Jay Gatsby (DiCaprio), and across the bay from his cousin, Daisy (Carey Mulligan), and her philandering, blue-blooded husband, Tom Buchanan (Joel Edgerton). It is thus that Nick is drawn into the captivating world of the super-rich, their illusions, loves and deceits.
As Nick bears witness, within and without the world he inhabits, he pens a tale of impossible love, incorruptible dreams and high-octane tragedy, and holds a mirror to our own modern times and struggles.

Sacha (Gad Elmaleh) loves partying and seducing pretty girls. His mantra is “no alarm clock, no wedding ring, no taxes.” Charlotte (Sophie Marceau) has two ex-husbands, three children and a career. When they meet they are completely incompatible and instantly smitten, but will their relationship survive demanding offspring and Charlotte’s wealthy ex-husband who just happens to be Sacha’s boss? Happiness, it seems, never comes without complications.
Gad Elmaleh, a popular stand-up comic, was voted "the funniest personality of France". He has also been building an impressive resume as an actor in recent years with Woody Allen’s Midnight In Paris and The Round-up. After playing opposite Audrey Tautou in Priceless, Elmaleh now cements his romantic lead appeal. At the same time, Sophie Marceau, with a 30-year acting career and a James Bond movie behind her, adds a wonderful physical comedy to her repertoire.
The chemistry between the two leads, the hilarious supporting characters, a sensational soundtrack and non-stop laughs make this a delightful romantic comedy that should make everyone happy. (French language, English subtitles.)

Filmed with the startling immediacy of unfolding history Academy Award®-winning director Alex Gibney’s WE We Steal Secrets: The Story of Wikileaks details the creation of Julian Assange’s controversial website, which facilitated the largest security breach in U.S. history. Hailed by some as a free-speech hero and others as a traitor and terrorist, the enigmatic Assange’s rise and fall are paralleled with that of Pfc. Bradley Manning, the brilliant, troubled young soldier who downloaded hundreds of thousands of documents from classified U.S. military and diplomatic servers, revealing the behind-the-scenes workings of the government’s international diplomacy and military strategy.
In seeking to expose abuse in the corridors of power, Assange and Manning were undermined by forces within and without, as well as by their own human failings. We Steal Secrets: The Story of Wikileaks is a riveting, multi-layered tale about transparency in the information age and our ever-elusive search for the truth. |
