Beth Elise Hawk’s directorial debut Breaking Bread has been a crowd-pleasing hit at festivals around the world including the recent Australian Jewish International Film Festival. Filled with exotic dishes, mouth-watering cinematography and plenty of ‘cuisine diplomacy’, Breaking Bread will leave viewers with a renewed sense of hope and craving for more.

A film about hope, healing, and mouthwatering cuisine, Breaking Bread is a celebration of two cultures coming together to celebrate a common love for food.

An in-depth look at Dr. Nof Atamna-Ismaeel's (the first Muslim Arab to win Israel's Masterchef) widely celebrated A-Sham Arabic Food Festival in Haifa, Israel. Breaking Bread follows Arab and Jewish chefs who come to the festival to collaborate their signature dishes, transcending their cultural differences to celebrate the delicious food of their region.

In a time of limited travel opportunities, the film takes viewers away on a colourful virtual tour of the cradle of civilisation that teases all the senses.
