The unmissable new film from acclaimed director Harry Wootliff starring Ruth Wilson and Tom Burke and produced by Jude Law.
Wilson gives a career-best performance as Kate, a disenfranchised woman on the fringes of society. Bored by the daily tedium of her office job, Kate (Ruth Wilson) is sleepwalking through life when a chance sexual encounter with a charismatic stranger (Tom Burke) awakens her. High on infatuation and the exhilaration of this new relationship, she finds herself inexplicably drawn to this mysterious new man. Hoping he will provide the escape she so desperately desires, she embarks on an emotionally dangerous journey that slowly begins to consume her.
Having detailed the heartaches and complexities of love in her acclaimed debut Only You, Wootliff’s richly nuanced second feature ventures into darker territory, deftly exploring the fine line between infatuation and obsession, and the destructive power dynamics of a toxic relationship.
Adapted from Deborah Kay Davies’s acclaimed novel ‘True Things About Me’, Harry Wootliff’s new film is an intense and absorbing psychological drama.
"It's an absorbing, character-driven film that explores female sensuality and longing in all its complexity - and whatever your gender or preferences, its vexing central relationship may well ring a bell.” Deadline Hollywood "This is a strong, assertive, sexy story about and by women that every woman will in some way recognise, and many more men besides.” Screen International
