Synopsis
From acclaimed Australian documentarian Jennifer Peedom (Sherpa, Mountain, River) comes a gripping new adventure into deep water. Richard “Harry” Harris and Craig Challen, named Australians of the Year for their pivotal role in the 2018 Tham Luang cave rescue that saved 12 Thai children and their coach, now return to the depths — this time in New Zealand’s Pearse Resurgence, believed to be one of the deepest cave systems in the world. Accompanied by their crew and Peedom’s camera, they embark on an awe-inspiring dive to chart a new path forward.
Featuring breathtaking cinematography by Benjamin Dowie (Embrace Kids, 2022) and an enthralling score by Anthony Partos (Animal Kingdom, The Rover), Deeper captures both the peril and exhilaration of extreme exploration. Yet beyond its heart-stopping dives, the film offers a moving reflection on the human drive to push boundaries — and the profound yearning that compels us to venture into the unknown.
