Synopsis

LUNA MONDAY EPIC

FARAWAY, SO CLOSE! (1993) | M

The sequel to Wenders’ beloved Wings of Desire follows again a group of angels who look longingly upon the life of humans. Made six years later, the Berlin of the sequel is a very different place: unified in name but overrun with crime, corruption, and—in what turns out to be a key theme here—Americans. Heinz Rühmann appears in his last role, and Mikhail Gorbachev and Lou Reed appear as guests. He never gathered a more improbable cast says Wenders.

German and English with English subtitles.
