Join us for a First Look Screening event with a Rustic Italian picnic theme on Saturday, June 6, from 4:15 pm at Luna Cinemas Leederville. Enjoy $10 Campari + Soda plus a $9 house red from the bar, baguettes, a variety of cheeses, salami, ham and truffle tasting sensations by our friends Great Southern Truffles before launching into this visually spectacular journey into the rarely seen Piedmont forest at 4.45pm (all while stocks last).

A moving story of family, connecting to nature and enjoying life’s simple pleasures, the film delves deep into the culture, history and spectacular landscape of Piedmont in northern Italy, the world’s truffle capital.

A visually stunning modern fable set in the Alba white truffle region of Italy, where Londoner Dalia returns to care for her ageing grandfather, Igor, an expert truffle forager. Armed with his loyal dog Birba, she hunts for a prize-winning truffle to save his home.

Elegant and cinematic, Trifole (Truffles) delves deep into the beauty and culture of this incredible place, connecting people to the earth and to each other.

Trifole stars the now 90-year-old and Piedmont local Umberto Orsini (La Dolce Vita, Visconti’s The Damned & Ludwig), talented newcomer and the film’s writer Ydalie Turk, one of the leading Italian actresses of our time, Margherita Buy, and the scene-stealing Birba the dog.

English and Italian with English subtitles.
