
The Polish Film Festival in Perth celebrates its 11th year with a dynamic program of 10 films screening across Luna Leederville, Windsor Cinema, The Backlot, and The Polish Club Sikorski in Bellevue from 14 September to 26 October. This year's line-up offers a rich mix of comedy, drama, romance, and documentary — with multiple Australian Premieres showcasing the vibrancy of contemporary Polish cinema.
The Festival opens on Sunday 14 September, 6pm at Luna Leederville with the Australian Premiere of OFF WE GO! (Dalej Jazda), a heartwarming, intergenerational road comedy about love, courage, and living life to the fullest at any age. Audiences will be treated to Polish delicacies and a complimentary glass of wine, or other beverage of their choice, before the screening — the perfect start to this cinematic journey through Poland.
2025 Highlights include:
MINGHUN (Sunday 21 September, Windsor) – A moving cross-cultural journey starring acclaimed actor Marcin Dorociński (The Queen's Gambit, Mission Impossible – Dead Reckoning. Blending quiet humour, emotional depth, and cultural insight, the film journeys through love, loss, and the bonds that transcend borders — and even death.
TRAVEL ESSENTIALS – (Wednesday 24 September, The Backlot Perth)
A tense, character-driven drama starring Polish-American actress Dagmara Domińczyk (HBO’s Succession, The Count of Monte Cristo, Priscilla). When a mysterious memoir arrives on her doorstep, a journalist returns to Poland, uncovering buried truths and the fragile line between memory and manipulation. Winner: Sapphire Lions — Gdynia Film Festival 2024.
BEAUTIFUL! (Sunday 19 October, Luna Leederville) A smart and deeply relatable comedy-drama about six women at life’s crossroads, offering a heartfelt exploration of identity and self-worth in a world full of unrealistic expectations.
THE CROSSROADS (Thursday 23 October, Luna Leederville) – An intimate drama in the tradition of Kieślowski, exploring moral choice and regret.
BLOODY TROPHY (Thursday 18 September, The Backlot Perth) – Filmed in South Africa, Poland and the Czech Republic, a gripping documentary uncovering the dark world of illegal wildlife trade.
VINCI 2 (Sunday 26 October, Luna Leederville) –The highly anticipated legacy sequel to Juliusz Machulski’s smash hit Vinci reunites an all-star cast and brings back his signature blend of humour, suspense, and clever twists. Vinci 2 is a high-stakes art-heist comedy that unites legendary criminals with a new generation of thieves.
