Synopsis
Jeffrey Lewis is a musician and comic book artist and has been described as an ‘anti folk’ musician, part of the DIY folk scene that has included The Moldy Peaches and Regina Spektor. His comic Fuff has been republished in book form while other comics by Lewis include Statistics and a chapter on Tuli Kupferberg in The Beats: A Graphic History, meanwhile his twelve albums include The Last Time I Did Acid I Went Insane, 12 Crass Songs, and Come on Board made in collaboration with Peter Stampfel of the Holy Modal Rounders. Popenko’s film follows the artist-musician as he tells his story, tours and draws comics, offering the audience an intimate view into the endlessly creative Lewis’s world and life.
