SPA26: Isabel
Book Tickets
Synopsis
Australian premiere
A sommelier in São Paulo’s contemporary fine dining scene, Isabel (Marina Person, who also co-wrote the script) is ready to break free from her domineering chef boss and start something of her own: a wine bar where she can decide what is on the wine list. Courting investors, she takes the first steps towards making her project a reality, even as the backing she needs remains frustratingly out of reach.
Walking the line between calculated risk and reckless abandon, Isabel’s passion and idealism collide with the pragmatic realities of running an independent business. In a world where success can turn sour as quickly as an uncorked bottle left out too long, Isabel must decide between playing it safe or taking a bold chance to uncork her destiny on her own terms.
Directed and co-written by Gabe Klinger, from the producers of I'm Still Here, and featuring Ciao Horowicz (I'm Still Here) and John Ortiz (American Fiction), Isabel is an energetic drama about following your dreams, imbued with a love of wine.
