Synopsis
Sixteen years after “The Social Network” chronicled the rise of Facebook, audiences can now experience its highly anticipated follow-up.
A companion piece to the hit film The Social Network, Sorkin’s original screenplay is based on the events that gave rise to the Wall Street Journal’s shocking exposé The Facebook Files. The film is inspired by the true story of how Frances Haugen (Madison), a young Facebook engineer, enlists the help of Jeff Horwitz (White), a Wall Street Journal reporter, to embark on a dangerous journey that ultimately blows the whistle on the social network’s most guarded secrets.
The film stars Mikey Madison, Jeremy Allen White, Bill Burr and Jeremy Strong. Strong takes over the role of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, succeeding Jesse Eisenberg, who led the original film.
Screening at Luna Leederville and Luna on SX from October 8.
